Post-Judgment Settlement—Property, Support & Trust Funds
We represented the petitioner in a complex post-judgment matter involving disputed property division, trust assets, child-support arrears, and financial reimbursements. Through targeted negotiation and motion practice, the parties reached a $300,000 settlement, including an immediate $100,000 release from attorney trust and remaining obligations satisfied through structured retirement transfers.
Result: Six-figure ($300,000) settlement secured; all financial disputes resolved under enforceable court order.

Contested Divorce—Property & Support Resolution
We represented a local professional in a contested divorce involving real property, financial disclosures, and short-term support issues. Strategic negotiation allowed the parties to resolve all disputes without costly litigation.
Result: Global marital settlement reached; client retained separate assets and obtained favorable support terms.

Property-Control Dispute—Mortgage Contributions (Watts/Epstein)
Our office represented a Bay Area homeowner in a disputed property-control matter involving a jointly owned residence. Relying on financial records and legal authority under Watts, Epstein, and Family Code §§ 3800–3802, we secured a court order requiring the opposing spouse to contribute monthly to the mortgage, preventing financial strain and preserving the home during the divorce.
Result: Court-ordered contribution secured; property preserved.

Exclusive Use and Possession of Marital Home
We represented a Silicon Valley resident seeking stability during divorce litigation involving a jointly purchased home. After demonstrating financial responsibility and the need for uninterrupted housing, the court granted exclusive use and possession under Family Code § 3801.
Result: Exclusive possession protected; client remained safely in the residence.

Litigation

Focused advocacy in defamation, business disputes, and defense litigation—driven by results.

Defamation Resolution—Online Statements Removed
A small business client faced significant reputational harm from defamatory online posts. Following targeted discovery and negotiation, we secured removal of the statements and a confidential monetary settlement.
Result: Full settlement obtained; defamatory content removed; case dismissed with prejudice.

Anti-SLAPP Victory—Malicious Prosecution Claim Defeated
Our office represented a Bay Area business owner wrongfully sued for malicious prosecution after prevailing in prior litigation. We filed a focused Anti-SLAPP motion demonstrating that the cross-complaint targeted protected petitioning activity and lacked probable cause. The court granted the motion in full, found the claim frivolous, and awarded statutory attorney’s fees.
Result: Malicious-prosecution claim dismissed with prejudice; client recovered fees and was fully vindicated.

● Demurrer Successfully Opposed—Defamation & Business Torts
We defended a Bay Area professional against a demurrer in a defamation and business-tort action. The defense argued public-figure status and res judicata based on a prior small-claims case. We established that our client was a private individual entitled to the standard negligence burden, and demonstrated that small-claims preclusion applies only to plaintiffs—not defendants who never had an opportunity to litigate affirmative claims. The court overruled the demurrer in full.
Result: All claims preserved; litigation proceeded on the merits.

● Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Defeated
Our office represented a Bay Area health-services provider accused of malpractice following a routine, low-risk treatment. Plaintiffs alleged only minor, temporary discomfort with no objective injury. Through targeted briefing and evidence, we showed that transient soreness and brief discomfort cannot establish causation or compensable harm under California law. The court agreed and dismissed the claims.
Result: Medical-malpractice claims defeated; client avoided liability and further litigation.

● OEM & Distribution Agreement—Intellectual Property Protected
We advised a biotech company on IP rights, licensing, and OEM manufacturing. Negotiations resulted in a comprehensive agreement protecting the company’s patent portfolio while expanding distribution throughout North America.
Result: Executed OEM and exclusive-distribution agreement securing IP protection and increasing revenue potential.

Patent Prosecution

Efficient patent and trademark protection tailored to innovative technologies and fast-moving markets.

Track One Utility Patent—Biotechnology Platform
Our office represented a Bay Area biotechnology company seeking rapid protection for a nucleic-acid quantification platform. We drafted a full utility patent application, prepared technical specifications and claims, and filed under the USPTO’s Track One Prioritized Examination program. By anticipating prior-art issues and coordinating timely responses, we achieved an accelerated first Office Action and streamlined prosecution.
Result: Track One utility patent successfully drafted, filed, and advanced through prioritized examination for a growing biotech company.

Composition-Based Patents—Obviousness & Double-Patenting Overcome
We represented a Bay Area health-products company seeking broad protection for innovative chemical and biological formulations. After drafting and filing multiple utility applications, we navigated rigorous examination involving obviousness, written-description, and double-patenting rejections. Through targeted, data-driven responses demonstrating unexpected results, distinct inventive concepts, and proper claim differentiation, the examiner withdrew the rejections and allowed the claims.
Result: Utility-patent claims allowed; client secured strong compositional IP protection and a foundation for future continuations.

● Trademark Office Action—Refusal Withdrawn
Our firm responded to a USPTO Office Action challenging the descriptiveness and design elements of a client’s brand mark. After presenting legal arguments and clarifications, the examiner withdrew the refusal.
Result: Mark approved for publication; client advanced toward federal registration.
